What is a WSIB Claim?

A WSIB claim is opened when a workplace injury has taken place. The injured individual will call into WSIB, report the claim, report the injuries sustained and be given a claim number.

What is considered a work place injury?

Any injury that takes place while on the job, big or small, is a work place injury. Various types of work place injuries include:

  • Slips, trips and falls
  • Muscle strains
  • Fracture
  • Head injuries
  • Repetitive strain injury
  • Crashes and collisions
  • Cuts and lacerations
  • Joint injuries

How are work place injuries treated?

Once an individual has opened a claim, they can than book an appointment at our clinic. During the initial assessment a physiotherapist will examine the individual and determine a diagnosis. Treatment will vary from each individual but will likely consist of: pain management, soft tissue / range of motion, strengthening and work hardening for return to work.
