What is Knee Pain?
Knee pain can be caused from various structures within the knee joint, but most commonly originates from strain and stress on the knee joint due to overuse or sudden and rapid onset of physical activity. The stress on the joint can result in meniscal injuries, ligament injuries, knee bursitis, instability or worse, fractures.
Knee pain can however occur over time due to poor mechanics of the knee resulting in degeneration and osteoarthritis of the knee. In some instances repetitive stress to the knee cause by running or jumping can lead to tendonitis of muscle tendons around knee. If left untreated, common knee injuries may get worse over time.
